Itinerary
Day 1 | Arrive Delhi
Upon leaving the aircraft at Delhi International Airport, follow the signs for passport control and
baggage collection. Complete the immigration formalities, collect your checked luggage, and clear
customs.
Then proceed to the arrival area and you will be greeted by our company representative and
assisted with transfer to your hotel.

Day 2 | Delhi
Begin the day with a visit to Old Delhi. Visit the famous Chandni Chowk bazaar in Old Delhi which is
the bustling soul of the capital city of India.
Visit Jama Masjid, which Shah Jahan built to dominate his city. Built using red sandstone and marble
by over 5000 artisans, the Jama Masjid is covered with intricate carvings.
Explore three major streets of old Delhi, each dedicated to a certain trade. Stroll down Dariba Kalan
which is dedicated to the work of the silver smiths, Kinari Bazaar which is a colourful place to shop
for haberdashery and finally Khari Baoli the legendary Delhi wholesale spice market. Get to enjoy a
cycle-rickshaw ride that will allow you to weave through some of the busiest streets in the city.
Witnessing the bustling alleyways on the back of a cycle-rickshaw is one of the best ways to see the
merchants selling their wares.
Next, head to Humayun’s tomb, the first Indian building to use the Persian double dome. Built using
red sandstone as well as white and black marbles to relieve the monotony in the structure, this tomb
is noteworthy for its harmonious proportions and is said to have inspired the building of Taj Mahal.
Drive past the imposing India gate, President’s palace and important government buildings.
Visit Gandhi Smriti memorial and museum where Gandhi spent the last few months of his life before
assassination.
Later, visit Bangla Sahib, the holy place of worship for Sikhs. A visit to the open kitchen here is
recommended, you will see volunteers working hard to prepare a meal. The kitchen serves meals to
over 22,000 people every day.
Before Concluding your day, you may stroll through the Janpath Market on your own.

Day 3 | Delhi – Leh (Flight)
After breakfast, take flight to Leh. Arrival at Leh Kushok Bakula airport our representative will meet
& greet you and transfer to the Hotel. This flight is one of the most sensational flights in the world.
On a clear day from one side of the aircraft can be seen in the distance the peaks of K2, Nanga
Parbat, Gasherbrum and on the other side of the aircraft, so close that you feel you could reach out
and touch it, is the Nun Kun massif. You would take a little time to settle in and acclimatize since you
have gone from a relatively low elevation in New Delhi to over (Altitude 11,000 feet).

Day 4 | Shey-Thiksay-Hemis –Stok Palace 5/6 HRS
Morning after breakfast, drive to Indus valley to visit SHEY PALACE AND GOMPA: Situated on a
hillock 15 Kms upstream from Leh, it was once the residence of the royal family. According to tradition, it was the seat of power of the pre-Tibetan kings. A 7.5 mts high copper statue of Buddha,
plated with gold and the largest of its kind, is installed here.
THIKSEY GOMPA: 19 Kms from Leh, spectacularly sited, Thiksey is one of the largest and
architecturally most impressive Gompas. There are several temples in this Gompas, containing
images, stupas and wall paintings of Buddha, which are exquisite also called mini potala palace.
HEMIS GOMPA: 40 Kms from Leh, it is the wealthiest, best known and biggest Gompa of Ladakh. Its
popularity stems from the major annual festival held here in summer. The festival is in honor of Guru
Padma Sambhava’s birth anniversary. It also has the largest Thanka in Ladakh which is unfurled once
in 12 years Hemis was built in 1630 during the reign of Singge Namgyal, an illustrious ruler of Ladakh.
It flourished under the Namgyal Dynasty for the royalty favored the Drugpa sect, which is managed
the monastery. It is divided into two, the assembly hall on the right and the main temple on the left.
The hall (Dukhang) is also used as “green room” by the dancers during the festival. The temple is
known as Tshogkhang. The verandahs have a surfeit of frescoes, among them the Buddhist “Wheel
Of Life” (Kalachakra) and the lords of the four quarters, besides the prayer wheel.
STOK PALACE & MUSEUM: The palace of the banished royal family, Stok has a museum which
displays fabulous period costumes and jewellery of the royalty along with exquisite Thankas
representing the life style of Shakya Muni. Interesting historical objects like coins, arm or, weapons,
precious jades and porcelain too can be seen here.

Day 5 | Leh - Alchi- Ule (70 KM / 3-4 HRS)
Morning drive to Ule on the way visit Alchi monastery it is famous for the paintings built by the
translator Rinchen zangpo, ALCHI GOMPA One of its walls features thousands of miniature sized
pictures of the Buddha. Three large sized images made of clay and painted brightly are its focal
attractions. No longer an active religious centre, it is looked after by monks from the Likir monastery.
This is the only monastery amongst 34 monasteries, which is not located on a hilltop. Overnight in

Day 6 | Ule-Lamayuru-Rizdong-Ule (130 KM/ 5-6 HRS)
We drive to Lamayuru monastery which is the oldest monastery in Ladakh and famous for its
landscape, more than 1000 years back the great Tibetan master Naropa had visited this place and
meditated at this place. Later drive back to Ule on the way visit RIDZONG GOMPA: Ridzong is the
most isolated monastery of all the monastery of Ladakh. Lamas used to meditate for years cutting
themselves from the rest of the world except for an one feet square outlet window from where they
accept the one time meal of the day the monastery was built by Tsultim Nima. CHULICHAN:
Chulichan, the nunnery is around one and half Kms. Below the Ridzong monastery; around 20 Nuns
resides at Chulichan. They provide food and cloths to the monks and perform morning and evening
prayers. Overnight in Ule.

Day 7 | Ule-Likir-Nimmu (40 Km/ 2-3 Hrs)
Drive to Nimmu on the visit Likir monastery LIKIR GOMPA: Founded in the 11th century and
rededicated to a different monastic order in the 15th century, its earlier Gompa was destroyed in a fire. The present Gompa dated back to the 18th century. Skilled craftsmen producing excellent
Thankas, earthen pots and carved wooden folding stools, live here in the village. Majestically
situated, Likir commands a spectacular view. The monastery belong to the Yellow sect and the head
Lama is the younger brother of Dalia Lama, Overnight in Nimmu.

Day 8 | Nimmu –Nubra (Via Khardungla Pass) (125KM 5/6 HRS)
Early morning proceeds to Nubra Valley via the World Highest Motorable road (5602 Meters) -
Khardungla pass. After crossing the pass stop at Khardung village to explore the area and visit to
local school. visit Hunder and this is a beautiful village to stay at. It has a small monastery and
ruined fort above the village. The walk or Camel Safari (Double Hump Bactrian camels) from Hunder
to Diskit, through sand dunes for two hours is a wonderful experince. Overnight in Nubra.

Day 9 | Excursion to Sumur, Panamik and Diskit
Morning after breakfast, drive to Village Sumur Visit the Samtanling monastery to witness the
prayers. Later drive to Panamik – famous for hot Sulphur Springs. You may take a bath at the springs,
which is said to be very good for the skin lunch at the camp. Post lunch visit Diskit monastery and the
village. Overnight stay at Nubra.

Day 10 | Nubra-Leh (160 Kms / 0430 Hrs)
After Breakfast drive back to Leh. Evening explore Leh bazaar on your own.

Day 11 | Leh – Delhi (FLIGHT)
Morning after breakfast, transfer to airport board your flight for Delhi. Enjoy yet again, a beautiful
flight over the great Himalayas. Arrival in Delhi & transfer to Hotel.

Day 12 | Final Departure
You will have a private transfer to Delhi International Airport for your onward flight.
